Founded less than two weeks ago the Vancouver Island Java User Group (VIJUG) already gained some traction. The member count on the mailing list has surpassed 25 and more growth is anticipated. The user group has been accepted as an official Java user group by Sun and is therefore part of the Sun Developer Network.
VIJUG aims to provide a platform for all Java enthusiasts to exchange ideas, share knowledge and help each other in order to strengthen the Java community in Victoria and on Vancouver Island.
VIJUG is looking forward to cooperating with the local high tech and academic communities alike, and hopes to become a valuable addition to the networking groups on Vancouver Island and beyond.
The mailing list and user group are free to join and can be found at http://mosabuam.com/mailman/listinfo/vijug_mosabuam.com and http://www.mosabuam.com/vijug.
