April 2008 VIJUG Meeting – Lightning Talks

This month we are going to do something different. The Vancouver Island Java User Group will host it’s first lightning talk session. Everybody is welcome to do a short presentation about a topic of their choice. You could rant about a tool, demo a project you are working on or whatever else you would like to show to the audience. Do you know a friend who got something cool to show or say – bring him along. Spread the word!

Where:
Vancouver Island Java User GroupVancouver Island Technology Park, Large Boardroom – 4464 Markham Street, Victoria, BC
When:
Wednesday, 23th April 2008, 18:00-19:30
Presentations:
Presenters will do quick demos and presentations(total time including setup, introduction and questions under 10 mins) on technologies they have been using, products they are developing, tools that make a difference in their day-to-day work. Anything that might be of interest to Java developers goes.

Would you be interested in presenting? Given that the presentation has to be really short, there is really no need for extensive preparation or anything, although demos are encouraged. If you would like to present, send a message to us telling what topic you would like to talk about. We will then post it on the list below.

If you are not interested in presenting, you should really consider attending anyway. Lighning talks are very dynamic and pack in a lot of interesting information. VIJUG meetings are very informative and provide a great networking opportunity for developers on the island.
